A Note from the author:

Having trouble with your lawnmower, snow thrower, chain saw, or other gasoline powered lawn or garden machine and need help? You've come to the right place.

Whether you own a Craftsman riding lawnmower, a Murray push lawnmower, or an Ariens snow blower, they all have one thing in common; the gasoline-powered small engine that drives them.

My name is Ernie Chiaradonna. I was a Small Engine Repair Tech for years before I fixed my last lawnmower and retired. It didn't take long before I missed working on lawnmowers, snow blowers, chainsaws, and the like. Unfortunately my small engine repair shop was gone; I needed a new outlet.

I began thinking about all the lawnmowers that came to my shop that the owners could have easily fixed themselves, the snow throwers that just lacked good maintenance, and the chainsaws that only needed saw-dust cleaned from the filter. If these people knew what I knew, they could have saved money on needless repairs. It doesn't matter if it's a snow blower, a chainsaw, or a lawnmower; the gasoline-powered small engine is the heart of them all. Every small engine; 2-cycle or 4-cycle, 3 horsepower or 23 horsepower, is susceptible to the same problems. The solution was to put my lawnmower repair knowledge into a book, so you would never have to pay a repair tech for unnecessary lawn mower repairs again.

In 1996 Small Engine Tech Tips was born. It's a do-it-yourself guide to servicing the engines that power lawn mowers, snow throwers, chainsaws, and dozens of other gasoline-powered machines. The book deals primarily with the small engine, because that's were most of the problems occur.

Not only does Small Engine Tech Tips offer in-depth information on how lawn mower engines work, it also teaches you how to service and maintain them, how to trouble-shoot problems, and how to perform simple, step-by-step, repairs on lawnmower, snow thrower, and chainsaw engines . As an added bonus, it also shares many of my  tech tips to keep them running smoothly.

So whether you have a broken lawnmower, snow thrower, or chainsaw, or simply want to keep your lawnmower or snow thrower in top working condition, Small Engine Tech Tips (and Small Engine Carburetor Tips) can help you get it running and keep it running smoothly for years.

Thank you for considering my book.

Ernest A. Chiaradonna
