Hi I'm Mark Massing and for years I was in the worst rut anyone could possibly be in. I had issues to say the least! I had more issues than a presidential debate! The following is my story and how I completely turned every aspect of my life around.  Along the way I learned what it takes to make it happen and discovered something not written or talked about anywhere.  I want to share it and my experience with you ...

I am not even sure how it came to be. I somewhere along the line managed to hit rock bottom. It was a slow, steady decline for sure, but I can’t pin down how it really happened. All I can say for sure is I was at the lowest point in my life ...  Not long ago I:

  • was overweight

  • tired all the time

  • slept and took naps a lot

  • definitely depressed

  • could not make a decision to save my life

  • was making very little money and had to work a lot to make the money I did

  • my savings account averaged about $16 (when I wasn’t bouncing checks)

  • I had over $7,000 in credit card debt

  • procrastinated on anything and everything

  • not a very romantic person (or so I was told ...)

  • never seemed to have time for anything (although I can’t say I was accomplishing much)

  • always felt stressed and anxious (this kept me from being able to truly relax even
    thought I laid around so much)

  • was irritable most of the time and even I didn’t like being around myself

I was in really bad shape. Every area of my life was in disarray. I didn’t necessarily like the way I was, it just happened. I didn’t like how I looked, how I felt, or how I treated other people. I had no real goals and not much good was happening to me on a day-to-day basis. I was not living, but merely surviving. I was going through the motions and letting things dictate my life instead of me choosing how I wanted to live.

I, unlike many others, didn’t have something happen to me to that made me want to make a change. Nothing in particular caused me to re-evaluate my life. I didn’t get into trouble with drugs, try to commit suicide, or anything like that.

I soon realized that no one was going to help me get my butt in gear. I had to do it myself. Yeah ... I got yelled at quite a bit from my girlfriend (I am surprised she stuck around), but it had no effect on me. I was in a slump to say the least.

Over time I just started realizing if I kept this up I would go nowhere and could possibly get worse. I had thought about making a change a few times here and there but that is all it was, just thoughts.

One day I did get a small urge to do something about it and ordered a few books. These where mostly self help type books. I figured the least I could do was lay around and read. At least it was little more productive I thought. I ended up reading quite a few of these types of books and expanded my reading material to other subjects like health, motivational books (I certainly needed them!), stress, romance, depression, and many others. I mostly stuck with the big name authors … Tony Robbins, John Gray, Zig Ziglar, and a few others. I then expanded the types of products I purchased. I got into magazines, tapes, and CDs. As you can probably imagine this did not help my credit card debt problem. I figured at the time though it was for a good cause. Also, if you have ever had a huge credit card debt it doesn’t seem to make much difference if you owe $7000 or $8000 … it is not going to paid off anytime soon.

I quickly was developing an obsession for information. I was reading anything and everything on money, health, romance, depression, stress management, leisure, and time management. I actually replaced watching TV with “studying”. I still had not improved my life at all, but I felt at least I was developing some goals in my head and gaining knowledge. Other than working and spending some time with my girlfriend and a few friends, I read and studied. Very little else … very little TV, or hobbies, etc...

I liked the idea of reading and learning about these subjects from several different authors. I was able to view these subjects from several different angles. In my reading and studying of money and finances I purchased several of the “get rich quick” types of products. I knew on a few of them they seemed far-fetched, but I got them anyway. I figured if I could learn something from them it might be worth it.


One thing that was amazing was all the money product offers that packed my mailbox when I started purchasing a few of these products. I must have gotten on the “this guy is dumb and will buy anything list”. I don’t consider myself dumb. Actually I think I am very analytical, but maybe too curious about things. Anyway, I must have bought a few dozen of these money scams and schemes. I still didn’t try any of them. I just liked reading about them. I know it’s weird, but at the time I still did not have much motivation. Maybe it was the depression … or my procrastination … or my indecision problem … or it involved too much effort for my liking.


I did like a lot of the motivational products. I could relate to the authors as most went through the same types of things I was going through (or so they said). Some talked about having “balance in your life”. Well after I thought about I realized I did. Everything was equally bad in my life! Nothing could get much worse. I don’t necessarily believe the “balance” thing. Some people are very interested in making and having a lot of money. Some could care less about romance. For others, their health might by the primary concern. This is what makes us human I guess.

A lot of the self help / self improvement stuff did not actually tell me how to really get started. Some talked about taking “baby steps”. I felt if I did this approach I might get better in ... oh … 20 years! I didn’t even know which area to start with. My lack of making decisions skills were in full force now. When this happens ... nothing happens!

I tried Tony Robbin’s Personal Power tapes. It teaches how you to change your life in 24 days or something. Each day you listen to a tape and do an exercise or two. I was a good product, but I managed to get through the entire thing and the changes didn’t stick. I slipped back it my old ways in a week. I do like his stuff though and have purchased many more of his products.

I then sat there on my couch one day and started thinking about all the information I had gained. I was surprised how much of it I retained. I decided to do something completely different and develop my own plan. I figured I knew best what I needed to do. I certainly had the ammunition with all the products I had bought and read. Two things were missing in my plan though. How to really get started and how to make the changes permanent if I was successful in making a change in something. I wrote down all my negative problems I had. I am surprised I had enough paper to record them all! I looked at the list (not too much though, as I might have cried thinking about the bad shape I was in) and put the problems into categories. These are the ones I described earlier … money, health, romance, time management, stress management and leisure. I don’t really know why I put them in categories. I just figured I should; just to get a better handle on them.

I then did have a revelation of sorts. It was really quite amazing when I looked at the list. It just hit me like a ton of bricks. I had not read about it in any of the books or products I bought. Now we are talking dozens and dozens and dozens of products! I made perfect sense to me. I knew it was the key to changing all the bad areas in my life. I shortly thereafter developed a way to keep my changes permanent. I was not sure it was going to work, but I thought I would give it a shot. What did I have to lose?

I put my plan in place and started to see some changes that gave me momentum. I was dead-on about my secret. It was truly a secret as I knew I was the only one who had this information. I developed it! A lot of the products I used talked about secrets, but they didn’t end up being anything special. This is why I don’t really like to use that word, but it was a secret in that I knew I was sole person who knew about it. Instead of secret I will refer to it as my special formula.

Anyway, I had my formula into full effect. I had my permanent change mechanism (sounds very scientific ... huh? … it really isn’t) going as well. My life was doing a complete 180-degree turn right before my eyes! It was happening quickly and all the changes were staying put.
