There is a beauty in the world around us that is often uncaptured. The sky. Flowers. The landscape. Man-made wonders surround us, too.

A photographer wants to keep all the world around him. He wants to freeze images in his eye and in his mind. With camera in hand he points and shoots capturing on film what he sees.

My name is Eric Wilson. I'm a photographer. For the past 33 years I have been shooting film. I started with a brownie camera. I discovered that taking pictures was more than pointing and clicking. It was about angles, light, shadows, framing, composition and more.

Romance

I find what is romantic about the world. I find special things. Then I imagine what it might look like in a photograph. That is the point at which I pick up my camera and try to create something special.

It could be a rock, a flower, a flowing brook or a meandering fence line. When something special in my environment sparks a feeling inside me, that's when I get my camera.

There is romance in the rocks, and the trees, and the flowers.

That's what I capture on film. Romance. I often whisper the word. If I get loud and excited about the romance that I see, then it vanishes before I can capture it.

I whisper - and take the picture.
